CAlling ALL Young Musicians IN Ipswich!
The Rock Schools take place during school holidays and are open to all 10-17 year olds regardless of previous experience. Over five days attendees form bands, write and record their own original music (no covers!) and on the final day perform a concert to friends and family.
They provide a fun environment for developing songwriting and performance skills, expressing creativity, making friends, and building confidence, self esteem and team working skills.
The next Rock School will take place from 9-13 April 2018 at South Street Studios, home to a professional recording studio and purpose-built music venue, in Ipswich.

HOW IT WORKS...
The first three days focus on songwriting. We deconstruct the songwriting process, exploring how to write engaging lyrics and make songs that people will want to listen to again and again. Participants form bands and under the guidance of our expert tutors, write and rehearse their own original songs.
The fourth and fifth days focus on performing. On the penultimate day, the bands head into the recording studio to record the songs they've written, with assistance from the recording studio's engineer. On the final day the bands rehearse, then perform a concert to friends and family.
Our aim isn't just to improve musical skills, but also confidence, self-esteem and team working skills that are applicable to all other areas of life. We encourage all attendees to share their ideas and to try new things, be it by writing lyrics, performing in public or by playing a new instrument for the first time.
